Call for Applications: DOC Research Institute Scholarship for MGIMO International Summer School 2018

The Dialogue of Civilizations Research Institute (DOC) awards scholarships, covering tuition fee, accommodation and travel expenses, to the five best-qualified applicants (post-graduate and advanced bachelor students of political and social sciences at a university in Germany).
The MGIMO International Summer School offers two intensive modules:
Module 1: “Russian Foreign Policy: Modern Challenges”
Module 2: “Russian Energy Policy and International Energy Cooperation”
The modules are taught at graduate level, in English, by recognized MGIMO professors. Students will attend daily lectures, followed by group discussion and teamwork, meet Russian politicians and diplomats, and representatives of Russian and international business.
Each module consists of discipline-specific courses (62 contact hours including an oral exam, 5 ECTS credits) and a Russian language course (30 contact hours and 14 field trip hours, 4 ECTS credits). The Russian language course is taught in groups composed of students with similar levels of proficiency in the Russian language.
Target group Post-graduate and advanced bachelor students of political and social sciences.

Module 2: 15 July to 4 August, 2018

About MGIMO:  Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) is an academic institution run by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It was dubbed the “Harvard of Russia” by Henry Kissinger and has the lowest acceptance rate and the highest test scores of any Russian university.
