Nizhni Novgorod, 11 March, 2019 – The Dialogue of Civilizations Research Institute (DOC) and Institute of International Relations and World History at Nizhny Novgorod’s Lobachevsky State University held a round table on “The Impact of Digital Transformations on Security, Business Practices and the Quality of Urban Life” at the Science and Information Center in Nizhny Novgorod. Internet of Things Council Founder Rob van Kranenburg and Deputy Director of the Center for Urban Anthropology at KB Strelka Daria Radchenko were the key speakers at the event.
Other speakers included Marina Voskanyan, Director of International Programs at the Center for the Development of Humanistic Ecology and Culture; Irina Petrova, Chair of the Department of Applied Sociology at Lobachevsky State University; Nadezhda Radina, Professor of Social Sciences Higher School of Economics in Nizhny Novgorod; and Research Associate Dmitry Kaminchenko, Associate Professor Evgeny Semenov and Professor Anton Fortunatov from the university’s Institute of International Relations and World History. Participants discussed the role of information and communication technologies in the lives of modern urban residents and analyzed the future digital outlook of cities.
As a result of the discussion, the DOC and Lobachevsky State University established an expert group on Digital Transformations of Modernity. The group will engage in analysis and discussion on the impact of digital technologies on modern social, economic and cultural development.
