The Dialogue of Civilizations Research Institute (DOC) will award six scholarships covering tuition fees, accommodation, and travel expenses, to allow post-graduate and advanced bachelor students of political and social sciences at German universities to participate in the MGIMO International Summer School Programme 2019.
Following the unique opportunity that the DOC offered in 2018 to a number of young professionals, this year’s programme will enable interested and motivated students to enrich their knowledge of contemporary developments and politics in Russia and gain valuable new cultural experiences and perspectives.
The MGIMO International Summer School offers two intensive modules:
Module 1: Russian Foreign Policy: Modern Challenges (23 June to 13 July 2019)
Module 2: Russian Energy Policy & International Energy Cooperation (14 July to 3 August 2019)
The modules are taught at graduate level, in English, by recognised MGIMO professors. Students will attend daily lectures followed by group discussion and teamwork, meet Russian politicians and diplomats, and visit major cultural sights in Moscow.
Each module consists of discipline-specific courses (54 contact hours including an oral exam; 5 ECTS credits) and a Russian-language course (38 contact hours and 14 field-trip hours; 4 ECTS credits). The Russian-language course is taught in groups comprising students with similar levels of proficiency in the Russian language.
To apply for a DOC scholarship, please send your detailed CV and letter of motivation with an indication of which module you would like to attend, to Scholarship2019@doc-research.org
Application deadline: 7 June 2019
